ʻĀina Haina Lit. Hind’s Land

Named for Robert Hind, who started the

Hind-Clarke Dairy there in 1924. (Pukui, Elbert, Moʻokini)

    An older name of this area is Kekaha which

is found in the story of Kuapakaʻa.
